Fox News: Gretchen Carlson (Host)

Fox News: Gretchen Carlson (Host)

Gretchen Carlson, went from Miss America, to Fox News Host, to a widely-recognized symbol against workplace sexual harassment. After impressing the judges with her violin skills to win Miss America 1989, she started her career in newscasting with CBS in 2000. She joined Fox News as a Co-Host in 2006 where she often, and strongly, voiced what she believed. On July, 6th 2016, she announced that she would part ways with Fox News and filed a sexual harassment claim against the company Chairman, Roger Ailes. The hen house door was kicked open. Other women came forward with similar allegations, including primetime anchor Megyn Kelly. Roger Ailes was forced to resign. The aftermath swept Greta Van Susteren out in September, who exercised a contract clause allowing her to leave if Ailes was gone. Fox News attempted arbitration to keep the case quiet but Carlson did quite the opposite; she made the allegations as public as possible. Carlson testified before congress and started a foundation to help women facing sexual harassment at their jobs. While the most intense presidential election in modern history played out, Fox News spent the remainder of 2016 filling open positions in front and behind the camera.
