Los Angeles Lakers: Kobe Bryant (Shooting Guard)

Los Angeles Lakers: Kobe Bryant (Shooting Guard)

17 NBA All-Star selections. 5 NBA Championships with the Lakers. 2 Olympic gold medals. 1 NBA MVP. 81 points in a game, the second highest single-game scoring total. 2 NBA scoring titles. How do you think the Hornets feel about trading their 1996 first round draft pick, Kobe Bryant? Any way you shoot it, Kobe Bryant will deservedly go down as one of the best players to set foot on the hardwood. A polarizing figure throughout his career, what gave Kobe the reputation of being one of the fiercest competitors in the game, also made him one of the more disliked players in the league; although one could argue (Kobe Bryant, for example) that players were simply jealous of his innate ability to score points. Playing for one of the more storied franchises in the NBA, Kobe is lauded for his work ethic and his high basketball IQ. While injuries and father time have taken a toll on him, Bryant will retire with the third most points scored in NBA history. Whether the Lakers retire his #8 jersey or his #24 jersey Lakers fans, and Lakers ownership, will be sad to see the face of their franchise lace up one last time at the end of the 2015-2016 season.
